Catalina Island’s new museum is cause enough to celebrate – or plan a trip to one of Southern California’s top destinations. The Ada Blanche Wrigley Schreiner Catalina Island Museum will feature a wealth of space with new exhibits dedicated to Catalina Island history, art and culture. While we’re sure you’ll want to spend plenty of time exploring the Catalina museum, its opening is also providing myriad Catalina Island events. Here are some of the many commemorative Catalina things to do at the new facility.
Members preview: If you love Catalina Island you should be a member of the museum – plus you’ll get to see it all before everyone else on June 17.
Grand opening and ribbon cutting: What’s a grand opening without a ribbon cutting? It starts at 10 a.m. on June 18.
Film Screening: Check out the classic JAWS at the new museum’s amphitheater on June 18 at 6 p.m.

Experience Catalina as a muse for generations of artists through Plein Air painting at the exhibit To the Wind that Will Blow Tomorrow. A reception and gallery talk will be held at 6 p.m. July 2.
