Available April 1 - October 31. This package is the ultimate Island experience. We visit the rustic Village of Two Harbor, fifteen miles down island from Avalon. Snorkeling equipment, snacks, soft drinks are all included. You will explore 15 miles of coastline along with a 15 offshore search for dolphins and whales. You will experience areas of the island seldom seen by visitors and home to most of our Island wildlife.

ULTIMATE ISLAND EXCURSION – Package 99
Your package includes round trip cross channel transportation from Long Beach aboard Catalina Express. Once on the Island, you will join Catalina Ocean Rafting on its Ultimate Island Excursion. This excursion is five different tours all wrapped up into one four and a half hour adventure. We explore, on our power inflatables, about 30 miles of Catalina waters. About 15 miles are along the coastline and about 15 miles are offshore in search of dolphins. As we explore our pristine coastline we will stop to snorkel (gear provided), and if conditions are good, the Captain may let you swim one of our Islands sea caves. We may see Bald Eagles, Harbor Seals, Sea Lions, Herons, and Red Tailed Hawks along our coastal route. We will stop at Two Harbors and let you explore this rustic island village. During our return trip to Avalon we search for pods of our resident dolphins. If we find a pod they will come right up to the boat to check us out. The excursion includes your mask, snorkel, fins, along with soft drinks, bottled water, cheese and crackers.
This package also includes Discount coupons valid at many of Avalon’s best restaurants, shops and boutiques, and a camera loaded with film to record your memories. One camera is included per reservation group.
You can also upgrade your Catalina Express tickets to Commodores Lounge, which is the first class section on their boats. You will receive pre boarding, reclining leather trimmed seats, snack and a cocktail or drink. Why not cruise to the Island and back first class!
Itinerary:
- 5:45 AM – Check in at Catalina Express, Downtown Long Beach Terminal
- 6:15 AM – Depart for Catalina Island
- 7:30 AM – Arrive Catalina Island
- 7:30 AM – 9:00 AM – Open time for breakfast in town
- 9:00 AM – Check in at Catalina Ocean Rafting
- 9:30 AM – Depart on Ultimate Island Excursion
- 2:00 PM – Arrive back in Avalon from Ultimate Island Excursion
- 2:00 PM – 3:15 PM – Open for shopping/activities/beach time
- 3:15 PM – Check in at Catalina Express
- 3:45 PM – Depart from Avalon to Long Beach aboard Catalina Express
- 5:00 PM – Arrive Long Beach
What to bring and wear:
Wear your bathing suit with a set of clothes over it; towel; sunscreen; soft soled shoes, sandals, or flip flops; sweatshirt or jacket, camera and spending money (gratuities for activity crews are not included in package).
Restrictions:
- No children under age 5
- No pregnant women or persons with severe back problems
- Must know how to swim if snorkeling
