See parts of our Island that you can only see by ocean raft, there are no roads or trails to this area. Snacks, sodas and drinking water are included along with your snorkeling gear.

THREE HOUR ISLAND ADVENTURE – Package 87
This package includes cross channel transportation from Long Beach to the Island. Explore Avalon on foot or maybe on an electric bike before your tour starts. Once aboard your tour raft you will explore ten miles of our Island’s coastline. Your Captain and/or Crew will explain the history, geology and plant life as we make our way down the coastline. Once out of Avalon, Catalina Island is a nature preserve, and it is beautiful, with its pristine beaches and beautiful coves. We may encounter Bald Eagles, Herons, Red Tail Hawks, Flying Fish, Sea Lions, Harbor Seals and many more of our Island inhabitants.
We will stop to snorkel at one of our best snorkel spots. Your crew will provide all the snorkeling equipment you will need to enjoy our undersea gardens. Beginners are welcome, if you know how to swim. After your snorkel, we serve complementary cheese, crackers, bottled water and sodas.
Hold onto your hat as your ocean raft heads offshore in search of Dolphins, Whales, and other critters on our way back to Avalon.
This package allows plenty of open time to enjoy Avalon on your own. If you prefer to add an activity during your open time we offer a one hour golf cart rental or a one hour electric bike rental which you can add to your package during check out. Feel free to customize your package by adding just the right activities for you!
You can also upgrade your Catalina Express tickets to Commodores Lounge, which is the first class section on their boats. You will receive pre boarding, reclining leather trimmed seats, snack and a cocktail or drink. Why not cruise to the Island and back first class!
The package also includes Discount coupons valid at many of Avalon’s best restaurants, shops, boutiques and walking tours.
Itinerary:
- 8:00 AM – Check in at Catalina Express, Downtown Long Beach Terminal (note 1)
- 8:30 AM – Depart for Catalina Island (note 1)
- 9:45 AM – Arrive Catalina Island (note 1)
- 9:45 AM – 2:00 PM Open time for lunch and exploration of Avalon. You can also add a golf cart rental or electric bike rental at check out.
- 2:00 PM – Check in at Catalina Ocean Rafting office
- 2:30 PM – 5:30 PM Experience our 3 Hour Island Adventure
- 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM Open time
- 7:00 PM – Check in at Catalina Express (note 2)
- 7:30 PM – Depart from Avalon to Long Beach aboard Catalina Express (note 2)
- 8:45 PM – Arrive Long Beach (note 2)
(Note 1) This schedule is for Saturday & Sunday from 9/06/2011 through 10/25/2011. Weekday passengers must take the 6:15 AM boat (5:45 AM check in).
(Note 2) From 9/06/2011 through 10/25/2011 your return boat will leave at 7:30 PM (check in at 7:00 PM) Except on Fridays when departure is at 7:00 PM (check in at 6:30 PM)
What to bring and wear:
Wear your bathing suit with a set of clothes over it; towel; sunscreen; soft soled shoes, sandals, or flip flops; sweatshirt or jacket, camera and spending money (gratuities for activity crews are not included in package).
Restrictions:
- Must know how to swim if snorkeling
- No children under age 5
- No passengers over 275 lbs.
- No pregnant women or persons with severe back problems
