SNORKELING TRIP – Package 81
Your package includes cross channel transportation from Long Beach to the Island aboard Catalina Express. This package allows plenty of open time to enjoy Avalon. Its time to check in with Catalina Ocean Rafting for your snorkeling trip. Your trip is 1 ¼ hours long and departs 2 times per day during our summer season. We take you by high speed inflatable raft to one of the best snorkeling spots on the coast to enjoy the crystal clear waters and abundant sea life. Your snorkeling gear and instruction are included (must know how to swim). No snorkeling experience is necessary. We offer sodas and bottled water for sale on board the boat. Below you can order an underwater camera, bag of fish food or our special video snorkeling mask with its built in video camera. Pictures are downloaded on DVD upon your return to Avalon.
If you prefer, you can add an activity during your open time. Turn this package into a surf and turf by ordering a one hour golf cart rental or a two hour electric bike rental which you can add to your package during check out. Feel free to customize your package by adding just the right activities for you!
You can also upgrade your Catalina Express tickets to Commodores Lounge, which is the first class section on their boats. You will receive pre boarding, reclining leather trimmed seats, snack and a cocktail or drink. Why not cruise to the Island and back first class!
The package also includes Discount coupons valid at many of Avalon’s best restaurants, shops and boutiques.

What to bring and wear:
Wear your bathing suit with a set of clothes over it. Bring a towel, sunscreen, sweatshirt or jacket and spending money (gratuities for activity crews are not included in the package). Soft soled shoes, sandals or flip flops are recommended.
Itinerary:
- 8:00 AM – Check in at Catalina Express, Downtown Long Beach Terminal (note 1)
- 8:30 AM – Depart for Catalina Island (note 1)
- 9:45 AM – Arrive Catalina Island (note 1)
- 9:45 AM – 7:00 PM Experience Catalina Island and enjoy your Catalina Ocean Rafting 1 ¼ Hour Snorkeling Trip at 2:30 PM or 4:00 PM. Check in at Ocean Rafting office ½ hour before trip time. Add a golf cart rental or an electric bike rental during your open time at check out.
- 7:00 PM – Check in at Catalina Express (note 2)
- 7:30 PM – Depart from Avalon to Long Beach aboard Catalina Express (note 2)
- 8:45 PM – Arrive Long Beach (note 2)
(Note 1) This schedule is for Saturday & Sunday from 9/06/2011 through 10/25/2011. Weekday passengers must take the 6:15 AM boat (5:45 AM check in).
(Note 2) From 9/06/2011 through 10/25/2011 your return boat will leave at 7:30 PM (check in at 7:00 PM) Except on Fridays when departure is at 7:00 PM (check in at 6:30 PM)
