ELECTRIC BIKE / WILD DOLPHIN – Package 102

Your package includes round trip cross channel transportation from Long Beach aboard Catalina Express. Once on the Island, you will check in at Catalina Ocean Rafting for your Wild Dolphin Adventure. We will explore about 20 miles total on our trip. About 10 miles will be along the coastline and you will be able enjoy secluded coves and beaches rarely seen by visitors to the Island. Your Captain will explain the geology of the Island along with pointing out the Bald Eagles, Harbor Seals, Hawks and Herons along our route. We will then head offshore in search of dolphins on our return trip to Avalon. If we find a pod, they will come up to the boat to say “Hi”. Get your cameras out because dolphins love to do tricks in front of the boat to show off!   Add a video snorkel mask, bag of fish food or an underwater camera below to capture all the action below water.

Upon returning to Avalon it will be time to explore the City of Avalon on your own Pedego Electric Bike. This two hour rental offers a great way to see Avalon at your pace.  Electric bikes make the flat areas effortless and the hills a breeze.  Each bike is equipped with a basket for your gear, helmet and a bottle of drinking water.   Add a child/pet/gear trailer, child seat or bike mounted stereo speakers below to customize your bike rental.  Stereo speakers plug into your smart phone, iPod or Mp3 player

This package allows plenty of open time for shopping or cocktails.

You can also upgrade your Catalina Express tickets to Commodores Lounge, which is the first class section on their boats.  You will receive pre boarding, reclining leather trimmed seats, snack and a cocktail or drink.  Why not cruise to the Island and back first class!

Package includes Discount coupons valid at many of Avalon’s best restaurants, shops and boutiques.

Package Available: Daily,  April 1 – October 31 and Saturday and Sunday Nov 1 through Dec 31.

• 8:00 AM – Check in at Catalina Express, Downtown Long Beach Terminal (note 1)
• 8:30 AM – Depart for Catalina Island (note 1)
• 9:45 AM – Arrive Catalina Island (note 1)
• 9:45 AM – 11:00 AM – Open time for Breakfast/Shopping
• 11:00 AM – Check in at Catalina Ocean Rafting
• 11:30 PM – Depart on Coastal Wild Dolphin Excursion
• 1:30 PM – Return to Avalon
• 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM – Open time for lunch
• 2:30 PM – Check in with Catalina Tour Bike Center
• 2:45 PM – 4:45 PM – Electric Bike Rental
• 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM – Open time for shopping or cocktails.
• 7:00 PM – Check in at Catalina Express (note 2)
• 7:30 PM – Depart from Avalon to Long Beach aboard Catalina Express
• 8:45 PM – Arrive Long Beach

(Note 1) This schedule is for Sunday from 10/26/2011 through 3/29/2012. On Saturdays, departure is at 8:00 AM (7:30 AM check in).

What to bring and wear:

Sunscreen, camera, sweatshirt or jacket and spending money (gratuities for activity crews are not included in pacakge).  Soft soled shoes, sandals, or flip flops are recommended.

Restrictions:

• No children under 18 on this package (age 16 when accompanied by a parent)
• No pregnant women
• No persons with severe back problems
• Weight limit is 280 pounds per person
